OUR STORY
Built in Harlem, for Harlem's kids.
Rise of the Phoenix Academy started with a simple observation: after-school programs were great at keeping kids safe and on top of homework, but very few were teaching them an actual craft something they could point to and say, "I made that."
So we built a program around three creative disciplines that meet kids where their curiosity already lives: a camera in their hand, a beat in their head, a story they want to tell. Each track is taught by instructors who practice the craft themselves, not just teach it from a textbook.
Every day still includes the structure parents count on homework help, snack time, pickup logistics but the heart of the program is craft time: real tools, real feedback, real work that students finish and keep.

Our students don’t just learn they build. Through financial literacy, entrepreneurship, trade skills, creative writing, photography, technology, and leadership development, they gain the confidence and practical experience to become innovators, business owners, creators, and community leaders.
